ZeoliteMAG are magnetic zeolite particles, which consist of a superparamagnetic iron oxide core and a high-porous aluminosilicate matrix.
The microporous zeolite structure is anionic charged and therefore useful as a high capacity cationic-exchanger for separation of cationic charged substances e.g. metal ions from solution.
Furthermore, due to the higher mechanical and chemical stability, hydrophilic character, resistance to microbiological degradation and compatibility with organic solvents, ZeoliteMAG is useful for biochromatography applications.
Based on the superparamagnetic core the ZeoliteMAG particles can be easily separated from a suspension by means of an external magnet.
